NVIDIA GPU Memory Usage Keeps Increasing

Symptom

When you use software interfaces involving image display or OpenGL rendering for a long time, you may observe that the NVIDIA GPU memory usage keeps increasing. In severe cases, it may lead to interface lag, slower software response, or insufficient system resources.

This issue may occur on devices equipped with professional graphics cards such as NVIDIA RTX A400, T400, P400, and other models, with certain affected driver versions in the 573/576 series or other versions installed.

Possible Cause

This issue is typically related to abnormal OpenGL resource release in certain NVIDIA graphics driver versions (573.42, 576.02, 576.52,and 576.61) rather than being caused by incorrect project configuration.

Solution

If the above issue occurs, please use the Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) Tool to remove the existing driver and reinstall another version. Ensure that the graphics card driver version is not lower than the minimum required version.

  • For Mech-Vision 2.2.x, the graphics card driver version must be 526.98 or later.

  • For Mech-Vision 1.7.x~2.1.x, the graphics card driver version must be 472.50 or later.

If the issue persists after changing the driver, you can try to disable Threaded optimization in the NVIDIA Control Panel or disable the Overlay feature in the NVIDIA App.

If the issue persists, please contact Mech-Mind Technical Support and provide the graphics card model, current driver version, software version, and Windows version to help determine a stable driver version.
