Introduction of Product and Documentation

Mech-Eye 3D Laser Profiler (“laser profiler”) is the 3D laser profiler developed by Mech-Mind. Through Mech-Eye SDK or third-party machine vision software, you can obtain intensity images, depth maps, and point clouds from the laser profiler.

This documentation provides contents including the software user manual of Mech-Eye SDK, hardware user manual of the laser profiler, and troubleshooting guidance.

If you use the full Mech-Mind solution (including the laser profiler hardware, Mech-Eye SDK, Mech-MSR, etc) to perform 3D measurement and inspection, please check out Learning Guidance for 3D Measurement and Inspection instead.

  • If you need to download the PDF hardware user manual and technical specifications, or obtain the 3D models, installation drawings, accessory information, product flyers, etc. of the laser profiler, please visit Mech-Mind Download Center.

  • If you encounter any issue while using the laser profiler, please visit Mech-Mind Online Community to get help (account registration and sign-in required).

Beginner’s Guide

The following topics provide the basic knowledge of the laser profiler, beginner’s tutorial, and comparison of different laser profiler models.

Among these, the Start Here topics explain the fundamentals of the laser profiler, which are the foundation for understanding how to use and configure the laser profiler. If you have never used a laser profiler, please read these topics first.

Mech-Eye API is the application programming interface of the laser profiler, available in C++, C#, and Python. It is applicable on both Windows and Ubuntu.

Based on Mech-Eye API, you can develop your own laser profiler control program:

Through Mech-Eye API, you can also use third-party machine vision software (such as Cognex VisionPro) to control the laser profiler and obtain data:
