Too Dark 2D Images Captured by LSR L-GL/LSR S-GL/DEEP-GL during Calibration
Symptom:
In the hand-eye calibration with LSR L-GL/LSR S-GL/DEEP-GL cameras, the 2D images captured by the cameras were too dark.
Affected Software Versions:
Mech-Vision 1.6.1 and later versions
Possible Cause:
The LSR/DEEP-GL series provide two types of 2D images: 2D image (texture) and 2D image (depth source). For the 2D image (depth source) used in hand-eye calibration, adjust the Exposure Time parameter in Mech-Eye Viewer if the environment is relatively dark.
Solution:
Follow these steps to fix the issue:
-
Connect to the LSR L-GL/LSR S-GL/DEEP-GL camera through Mech-Eye Viewer.
-
Select “calib” under Parameter group.
-
Increase the value of Exposure Time in the 2D Image (Depth Source) subcategory of the 2D Parameters category. This parameter is only visible when Exposure Mode is set to Timed. Alternatively, set Exposure Mode to Flash and try re-calibration.
-
Provide additional lighting on site if the issue persists.
