Failure to Acquire Point Cloud Using Camera in Target Object Editor

Symptom:

When the camera was used to acquire the point cloud in the target object editor, it indicated that the camera was not connected and could not acquire the point cloud.

Affected Software Versions:

Mech-Vision 2.0.0 and later versions

Possible Cause:

The target object editor was not on the firewall whitelist, and the camera could not be discovered in the editor due to the firewall blocking.

Solution:

Add the target object editor to the firewall whitelist by following these steps:

  1. On the IPC, select Control panel  System and Security  Windows Defender Firewall.

  2. In the left sidebar, click Allow an app or feature through Windows Defender Firewall.

  3. Click Change settings, and then click Allow another app to open the “Add Application” window.

  4. In the “Add Application” window, Click Browse to locate and select the target object editor application, and then click Add to add the target object editor to the firewall whitelist.
