Description

This step establishes the mapping between the surface data coordinate system and machine coordinate system, enabling the machine to perform corresponding linear motions based on the surface data coordinates. Applicable to N-point calibration on a gantry system.

Usage Scenario

Applies to scenarios where N-point calibration is performed with a 3D laser profiler, especially on a gantry system or in automated measurement and inspection tasks that require mapping surface data to the machine coordinate system.

Input Description

The input of this Step is a feature point list. A feature point list contains points extracted from the surface data and is defined in the surface data coordinate system. It is typically obtained from the Locate Feature Point of Surface Step.

Parameter Description

The parameter panel of this Step is the entry for the N-Point Calibration tool. After configuring the input for the Step, click the Open the editor button to open the calibration interface.

For detailed calibration procedures, see N-Point Calibration (Gantry).

Calibration Result Description

The results of N-point calibration are stored in the calibration directory under the solution folder. They can be applied in the 3D Laser Profiler Step to achieve spatial mapping and data alignment.
