External devices (such as PLCs) can connect to the I/O terminals on the controller of a laser profile, trigger the Mech-MSR projects to run through the general-purpose DI terminals, and obtain the overall quality judgment results of the Mech-MSR projects through the general-purpose DO terminals. In this setup, the Data Acquisition Trigger Source of the laser profiler is typically set to External.

  • Triggering a project to run (via general-purpose DI)

If you need to trigger a Mech-MSR project to run via a DI terminal, first review the Input Signal Terminals of the controller (the LNX-7500 series is used as an example). Then refer to Configure Laser Profiler I/O Terminals to learn how to configure them in Mech-MSR.

  • Obtaining quality judgment result (via general-purpose DO)

If you need to obtain the overall quality judgment result of a Mech-MSR project via a DO terminal, first review the Output Signal Terminals of the controller (the LNX-7500 series is used as an example). Then refer to Configure Laser Profiler I/O Terminals to learn how to configure them in Mech-MSR.
