Merge Point Clouds with Similar Heights

Function

This Step merges point clouds with similar height values in the specified direction.

Usage Scenario

This Step merges a list of point clouds belonging to the same object. This Step can be used after the Point Cloud Clustering Step.

Input and Output

Input

Input port Data type Description

Point Clouds

PointCloud/XYZNormal[]

Among point clouds input to this port, those with similar height values will be merged.

Output

List of point clouds after merging.

Parameter Description

Calc Height Settings

Parameter Description

Tolerance in Height

Parameter description: Set the tolerance range for determining whether two point clouds have similar height values, measured in millimeters (mm).

Default value: 5.000 mm.

Instruction: Point clouds within this range will be considered to have similar heights and will be merged.

Reference Direction Type

Parameter description: Set the reference direction type for height calculation.

Value list:

  • CustomizedDir: Customized direction.

  • NormalDirOfMaxSizeCloud: Normal direction of the largest point cloud.

Instruction: Select the source of the reference direction according to actual requirements.

Customized Direction

Parameter Description

X

Parameter description: Set the component of the custom reference direction on the X-axis.
Default value: 0.0000.

Y

Parameter description: Set the component of the custom reference direction on the Y-axis.
Default value: 0.0000.

Z

Parameter description: Set the component of the custom reference direction on the Z-axis.
Default value: 1.0000.
