Function

This Step calculates the height difference (i.e., profile) between the object surface point cloud and the model. Usually, two such Steps are used at the same time: One takes the point cloud of the object whose profile needs to be evaluated as the input, and the other takes the standard model point cloud. The two Steps respectively calculate the differences with the fitted plane (i.e., the flatness). Then, the difference between the output flatness needs to be calculated to obtain the profile. Usually, the flatness or profile is the maximum value of the height difference somewhere on the point clouds.

Usage Scenario

This Step is a custom Step for special scenarios.

Input and Output

  • Input:

    1. Point cloud input to this port will be used to calculate the profile. It is the point cloud of the object to be measured or the standard model.

    2. Plane widths calculated.

  • Output:

    1. Height differences between specified points in the region of interest of the input point cloud and the fitted plane

    2. Object or model point cloud in the region of interest

    3. Object or model point cloud after specifying 2D coordinates (for subsequent fitting of different point clouds to facilitate calculation)

    4. Object or model point cloud and fitted plane’s point cloud after specifying 2D coordinates

    5. Cross section point cloud
