This chapter guides you through the downloading, installation, upgrade, uninstallation, repair, and installation modification of Mech-Mind vision-series software.

Mech-Mind vision-series software is the umbrella term for the software independently developed by Mech-Mind, including Mech-Vision, Mech-Viz, and Mech-Center. Mech-Mind vision-series software has the following features: (1) Provide easy-to-use setup wizard. (2) Support standard installation, upgrade and uninstallation procedures. (3) Support English, Simplified Chinese, Japanese and Korean. (4) Support automatic adaptation to various resolutions.

If you are using the Mech-Mind vision-series software for the first time, refer to Install Software to complete the software installation.

If you have already installed the Mech-Mind vision-series software, refer to Upgrade Software to upgrade the software to the latest version.

System Requirements

Mech-Mind vision-series software can be used only when being installed on the IPC (Industrial Personal Computer) or your PC (Personal Computer). The IPC or PC for installing software must should meet the following recommended system requirements:

  • Operating system: Windows 10 or higher

  • CPU: needs to support the AVX2 instruction set and meets any of the following conditions:

    • IPC or PC without any discrete graphics card: Intel i5-12400 or higher.

    • IPC or PC with a discrete graphics card: Intel i7-6700 or higher, with the graphics card not lower than GTX 1050 Ti.

IPCs with Intel CPUs are thoroughly tested while IPCs with AMD CPUs are not yet tested. Therefore, Intel CPUs are recommended.

  • Memory: 8 GB or larger

  • GPU: NVIDIA GTX 1050TI (if with a discrete graphics card)

  • Hard drive: 128GB SSD or larger

  • Mech-Mind vision-series software does not support discrete graphics cards other than NVIDIA.

  • Ensure that the hard disk where software will be installed on IPC or PC should have at least 10 GB free space; otherwise, installation may fail.

  • If the CodeMeter driver has not been installed on the IPC or PC, it will automatically been installed to the hard disk C during software installation. Do not uninstall it or move its installation files; otherwise, license authorization may fail and Mech-Mind software will not be allowed to use.

Download Software Installation Package

To ease the quick installation of the software required for constructing a Vision System, Mech-Mind provides a Mech-Mind Software Suite (hereinafter referred to as “Software Suite”) that integrates all vision-series software. In addition, Mech-Mind provides the software installation package for every vision-series software.

  • Software Suite now integrates Mech-Vision, Mech-Viz, and Mech-Center.

  • Both Software Suite and software installation packages integrate the CodeMeter driver to adapt to the Dongle for software license authorization.

  • Both Software Suite and Mech-Center installation packages integrate the Python 3.6.5 environment and no longer include the running environment check tool.

  • The Mech-Vision installation packages integrates the Python 3.6.8 environment.

You can download the Software Suite or a software installation package from Mech-Mind Online Community or contact Mech-Mind pre-sales or support engineers.

Install Software

Verify Integrity of Software Installation Package

Since the software installation package may be corrupted during transmission or downloading, you need to verify the integrity of the software installation package. The integrity of the installer can be verified with the CRC32 value, which is provided on the download page.

To verify the integrity of the software installation package, follow these steps:

  1. Copy the downloaded software installation package to a specified directory on the IPC or PC, such as “D:/”.

  2. Right-click the software installation package and select CRC SHA  CRC32 in the displayed shortcut menu to calculate the CRC32 value for it.

If the software installation package is a compressed file, you should calculate the CRC32 values against the compressed file and the decompressed installer, and calculate the CRC32 checksum for data against the “content” folder.

  3. Check the calculated CRC32 value against the one on the download page. The two values should be identical.

If the calculated CRC32 value of the software installation package is different, please download it again. If the calculated CRC32 value of the decompressed installer or the calculated CRC32 checksum for data of the “content” folder is different, please decompress the software installation package again.

Quickly Install Multiple Vision-series Software

To quickly install multiple vision-series software using Software Suite, follow these steps:

  1. Copy the downloaded Software Suite to a specified directory on the IPC or PC, such as “D:/Mech-Mind”, and decompress it.
