Model Editor

As a built-in tool of Mech-Viz, Model Editor is mainly used to adjust the reference frame of the end tool model and create convex hulls for the end tool model.

The collision models of end tools used in Mech-Viz should be OBJ models that are composed entirely of convex hulls (convex polyhedra). If the end tool model you use is in STL, STP, STEP, or OBJ format and does not meet this requirement, you should use Model Editor to create convex hulls on it and export it as an OBJ model.

A convex hull refers to the smallest convex shape that completely encloses a set of points in a multi-dimensional space. In simpler terms, a convex hull is a convex polygon or polyhedron that wraps around a set of points or a collection of objects in such a way that no part of the polygon or polyhedron “bends inward.”
