This section introduces the user interface of the Model Editor.

3D Selection Tool

Create a cuboid-shaped selection frame

Create Convex Hull

Create a convex hull based on the vertices in the cuboid-shaped selection frame

Shift + C

Create Center Point

Create a center point based on the vertices in the cuboid-shaped selection frame

Set Coordinate System

Create a coordinate system based on the center point or the vertices

Reference Model

The imported reference model files will be displayed in this panel.

  • Click the model file name, and the vertices of the model will be displayed in the 3D editing workspace.

  • Once you select the model file name, click icon_display_transform will hide the model only and the vertices of the model will still be displayed.

  • If the model file name is not selected, click icon_display_transform will hide the entire model.

Resource Tree

The geometric solids, convex hulls, and center points will be displayed in the resource tree.

Click icon_display_transform to hide the corresponding convex hulls or center points.

Right-click the name of the geometric solid and you can see the following options.

Copy

Copy the selected geometric solid

Paste the geometric solid

Delete

Delete the selected geometric solid

Rename

Rename the selected geometric solid

Right-click the name of the convex hull and you can see the following options.

Show 3D Selection Tool At Creation

Display the 3D selection tool which is used to create the convex hull

Right-click the name of the center point and you can see the following options.

Delete the selected center point

Rename the selected center point

Show 3D Selection Tool At Creation

Display the 3D selection tool which is used to create the center point

Show On Top

Select to view the center point inside the model

3D Editing Workspace

You can view and edit the models in the 3D Editing Workspace. You can follow the instructions below to adjust the view.

  • Scroll up and down with the mouse to zoom in and out in the 3D Editing Workspace.

  • Click and hold the left button on the mouse and drag in any direction to rotate the view.

  • Click and hold the scroll wheel and drag in any direction to pan the view.

  • Right-click the mouse and you can switch the view by selecting a view in the context menu.
