This topic provides selection guidance and detailed descriptions for the accessories of the Mech-Eye Industrial 3D Camera.

Accessory Selection Guide

After selecting the appropriate camera model, you also need to choose the camera accessories based on actual requirements.

  • 1 Power module

  • 2 Camera Ethernet cable

  • 3 Calibration board

The power module is used to power the camera. Mech-Mind offers two power supply options: 24 VDC power supply and power adapter supply. Please choose one of the solutions based on your actual requirements. In industrial applications, it is recommended to use the 24 VDC power supply solution.

The camera Ethernet Cable is primarily used to connect the camera to an industrial PC (IPC) or other network devices, enabling data transmission. The camera must use the Ethernet cable provided by Mech-Mind. Based on your actual needs, you can choose the appropriate connector type and cable length. The calibration board is primarily used for camera intrinsic parameter check, intrinsic parameter correction, and hand-eye calibration (suitable for 3D Robot Guidance scenarios). For detailed selection guidance, please refer to Calibration Board Selection.

If the camera is used in scenarios such as 3D robot guidance or 3D measurement and inspection, other accessories, such as an IPC and a license dongle (software licensing device), should also be selected based on project requirements. For detailed information, please refer to Select Other Accessories.

Power Module Selection

Please choose the appropriate power supply solution to determine the power module.

24 VDC Power Supply Solution

In the 24 VDC power supply solution, the power module consists of the camera’s DC power cable and a DC power supply device (such as a DIN rail power supply).

DC Power Cable and DC Power Extension Cable

It is recommended to use the cables provided by Mech-Mind for cameras. In scenarios where installation methods such as track chains or dresspacks are used, DC power extension cables can be used for segmented wiring. Mech-Mind offers DC power cables and DC power extension cables with M12 connectors in two types: straight connector and right-angle connector, and with various length options available for selection. Please choose the appropriate model of the DC power cable and DC extension power cable based on your requirements.

DC Power Supply Device

For the DC power supply device, it is recommended to use the DIN rail power supply provided by Mech-Mind. You may also choose other DIN rail power supplies or DC power devices that comply with the relevant safety standards.   • The DIN rail power supply model EDR-120-24 is only sold in India.

  • The DIN rail power supply provided by Mech-Mind does not include an AC power cable and must be prepared separately.

Power Adapter Supply Solution

In the power adapter supply solution, the power module consists of the power adaptor and the AC power cable. Mech-Mind provides whole sets of power adapter and AC power cable in different lengths. Please choose the appropriate model according to your required length.

Calibration Board Selection

Select the proper calibration board according to the camera model and the actual working distance.

To determine the camera model, please refer to How to Read Camera Serial Number. If you still cannot determine the camera model, contact Mech-Mind Technical Support.
