Increase Data Acquisition Speed

Network Environment Requirement

To ensure the data acquisition speed, the network environment should meet the requirements below:

The network switch, router, network interface card, and Ethernet cables in use should support gigabit bandwidth.

If the data acquisition time far exceeds the normal duration, refer to Solutions to troubleshoot the issue.

Parameter Settings

The data acquisition speed is influenced by parameter values. Adjust the parameters below to further enhance the data acquisition speed.

After adjusting the parameter settings, ensure that the brightness of the 2D image remains appropriate and that the depth data is complete.

  • Adjust the parameter Exposure Mode/2D Image (Depth Source) Exposure Mode in the 2D Parameters category:

    • When the ambient light is dark, it is recommended to set this parameter value to Flash.

If Flash Acquisition Mode is displayed, set its value to Fast. If Flash Acquisition Mode is set to Responsive, decrease the value of Flash Exposure Time.

    • When the ambient light is stable, this parameter can be set to Timed or Auto. If the parameter is set to Timed, decrease the value of Exposure Time.

When the ambient light is unstable, it is recommended to set this parameter to Auto. In this mode, multiple exposures will be conducted automatically, resulting in a relatively long image acquisition time.

    • When this parameter is set to HDR, decrease the values of Exposure Multiplier and Exposure Time.

  • Adjust parameters in the 3D Parameters category:

    • Decrease the values of Exposure Multiplier and Exposure Time. If you still need to enhance the brightness of the 2D image/2D images (depth source) and improve the quality of the depth map and point cloud, increase the value of Gain as needed.

    • Set the value of Fringe Coding Mode in the Laser subcategory or the value of Fringe Coding Mode in the Projector subcategory to Fast.

  • Switch to the Administrator account and reduce the image resolution. Camera models whose resolutions can be changed are as follows:

    • LSR S, LSR L, LSR XL: The resolution of the 2D image can be changed.

    • DEEP: The resolution of the depth map can be changed.

    • NANO ULTRA, PRO S, and PRO M: Both the resolutions of the 2D image and depth map can be changed.

If DEEP, LSR S, LSR L, LSR XL or UHP-140 is in use, you can also switch to the guru level, and adjust the parameters in the 3D Parameters category according to the table below to further enhance the acquisition speed.

Model Parameter

UHP-140

Set the value of Capture Mode in the UHP subcategory to Camera1 or Camera2.

DEEP, LSR S, LSR L, and LSR XL

Decrease the value of Laser Frame Partition Count in the subcategory Laser Projection Frame Control.

This parameter is unavailable when the value of Fringe Coding Mode is set to Reflective.
