FOV Calculator
This tool is used for helping determine the mounting height of the camera based on your needs for camera FOV. Based on the entered working distance, this tool calculates the FOV height and width at this distance for the camera.
The calculation result is for reference only.
Calculate Camera FOV
Please follow these steps calculate the camera FOV:
-
Select the camera model in Select camera model.
If the model in use is not listed in the drop-down menu, click Other models at the bottom of the menu to view more models. -
Enter the working distance in the Enter working distance field. The FOV length and FOV width are calculated based on the entered working distance. If the calculated FOV does not meet your needs, proceed to the next step.
-
The range of the working distance is the recommended working distance of the selected camera model. Refer to Camera Working Distance.
-
The entered working distance must be within the above range. Otherwise, the entered value will be automatically adjusted.
-
-
Click the arrow buttons to the right or scroll the mouse wheel to adjust the working distance, until the calculated FOV meets your needs. Use this working distance to estimate the appropriate mounting height of the camera.
