Mech-MSR 2.2.0 Upgrade Notes

Mech-MSR can be directly upgraded from versions 2.0.0–2.1.1 to 2.2.0, and solutions created in earlier versions can still be used normally in 2.2.0, but some compatibility issues should be noted.

Upgrade from Mech-MSR 2.1.1 to 2.2.0

  • The Alignment Step is no longer maintained as of version 2.2.0. When an old solution is opened in version 2.2.0, projects that use this Step can still run normally and switch existing matching templates, but creating or editing matching templates for this Step is no longer supported, and this Step is no longer available in the Step Library. If you need to continue adjusting templates or create related workflows, it is recommended to use the Surface Alignment Step.

  • In 2.2.0, the 3D Laser Profiler Step’s Flip Image parameter can also be used in multi-device scenarios. After an old solution is upgraded from 2.1.1 to 2.2.0, this parameter is selected by default. It is recommended to confirm, based on the actual on-site acquisition direction and calibration configuration, whether this option should remain selected.

  • In 2.2.0, image data acquired by the 3D Laser Profiler Step may encounter offset compared with that acquired by version 2.1.1. After the upgrade, it is recommended to check whether the position of the acquired images meets expectations and determine whether related settings such as feature regions need to be adjusted based on actual conditions.

  • In 2.2.0, content has been added to the input/output signal tables of some Standard Interface Communication protocols, causing changes to the offsets or address ranges of subsequent signals. For example, the DB offsets in Siemens S7, the holding register addresses in Modbus TCP, and the D register offsets in Mitsubishi MELSEC have all been adjusted. This change is not compatible with the related address configurations in version 2.1.1. If the old solution uses a standard communication mode, after the upgrade please recheck and configure the PLC-side address mapping according to the latest signal tables in the 2.2.0 documentation.

  • If the old solution uses communication functions and the judgment results are parsed by a PLC or host computer, note that after upgrading to 2.2.0, the judgment result encoding has been adjusted to OK = 1 and NG = 0, and the normal status code has been changed to 1. If you still need to use the old encoding (OK = 0, NG = 1), select Settings  Options from the menu bar, and then select the Use legacy judgment result encoding option on the Advanced tab. This setting takes effect after the software is restarted.
