Problem

When performing Standard Interface calibration on a FANUC robot that has an additional seventh axis, you may encounter the error "OS-144 System Error 5, 11 at 10470c6c" or "Robot unreachable."

Possible Causes

The issue may be caused by an incorrect configuration of the robot’s additional seventh axis or incorrect parameter settings in the MM_CALIB command.

Solutions

When performing Standard Interface calibration on a FANUC robot that has an additional seventh axis, make sure the following two conditions are met.

  • The robot’s additional seventh axis must be configured as an Auxiliary Linear Axis, meaning it should be set to a non-coupled state.

  • Set the fourth parameter of the MM_CALIB command to 7, and the fifth parameter to the E1 axis value of the calibration start position.
