Mech-Eye SDK 2.2.0 Release notes
This document introduces the new features, improvements, and resolved issues of Mech-Eye SDK 2.2.0.
Highlights
Mech-Eye SDK 2.2.0 officially supports Mech-Eye 3D Laser Profiler and provide the following key functions:
Laser Profiler Parameters
Through adjusting the parameters tailored to the laser profiler, you can enhance the data quality and adapt the laser profiler to different scenarios.
The parameter panel also provides various convenient tools:
-
Trigger Interval Calculator: When the scan is triggered by an encoder, adjust the relevant parameters using this tool to make the Y-axis resolution of the scan data match the X-axis resolution.
-
HDR Exposure Settings: With this tool, you can adjust the total exposure time and the proportions of each exposure phases in the HDR exposure mode.
-
Mask Tool: With this tool, you can set masks to exclude unneeded data in the raw image.
-
Tilt Correction and Height Correction: Through these tools, you can conveniently correct the tilt of the profile and height error in the profile.
Measurement Tool
Measurement tool can be used to measure the point-to-point distance, point-to-line distance, and height difference in the profile, in order to check if the target object meets the design accuracy requirements.
Communication with External Devices (I/O)
The controller of the laser profiler provides input and output signal terminals used to communicate with external devices, you can provide data acquisition control signals with an external device, or provide data acquisition status signals to an external device.
Meanwhile, Mech-Eye SDK provides the corresponding parameters for selecting the source of the data acquisition control signals.
Retrieve Data with Callback Function
Mech-Eye API provides the method for registering a callback function. You can retrieve the data acquired by the laser profiler with the callback function to realize asynchronous operation.
Display Object Surface Features and Depth Variation Simultaneously in Point Cloud
A Jet + intensity option is provided in the Color menu in the left panel of the point cloud display. This option overlays the intensity information of the object surface on the jet color scheme, suitable for checking the object surface features and depth changes at the same time.
Save High Accuracy Point Cloud
When displaying the point cloud obtained from the laser profiler, Mech-Eye Viewer downsamples the point cloud to ensure sufficient execution speed of the software. When you save the data, the original point cloud before downsampling is saved to provide higher-accuracy point cloud data.
Software and Firmware Upgrade
Mech-Eye Viewer automatically checks the firmware versions of the sensor head and controller and compares them with the software version to determine if the software or firmware needs to be upgraded. If upgrade is needed, you can simply click the Upgrade button in the info card to complete the upgrade quickly.
