Overview

What Is Hand-Eye Calibration?

Hand-eye calibration establishes the transformation relationship between the camera and robot reference frames. With this relationship, the object pose determined by the vision system can be transformed into that in the robot reference frame, which guides the robot to perform its tasks.

What Hand-Eye Calibration Is Required?

The hand-eye calibration is critical. The accuracy of its results and the stability of algorithms directly affect the accuracy of camera-related production.

When Hand-Eye Calibration Is Required?

After the Mech-Mind vision system is built, you can start your first hand-eye calibration.

In addition, when the camera moves in reference to the robot base (camera mounted using the ETH method) or flange (camera mounted using the EIH method), you need to perform the hand-eye calibration again.
