How to build a Demo

The Function of Demo

The following picture shows a common Demo used in the laboratory, which is a combination of a small robot and a camera. Using this Demo can perform simple functions such as pre-project testing, display unit construction, training of software, data collection, etc., in the laboratory.

The Demo supports layouts for a maximum of three boxes (Figure 2), and three cameras are placed at the same time (Figure 3). The surface light source or bar light source can be installed on the top of Demo to meet different project requirements.

How to build a Demo

Camera selection

Small Demo usually uses cameras with working distances less than 0.8m. The available camera models are:

  • Mech-Eye Pro M 700C

  • Mech-Eye Pro M 700M

  • Mech-Eye Pro S 500C

  • Mech-Eye Pro S 500M

  • Mech-Eye Pro S 700C

  • Mech-Eye Pro S 700M

Note: Enhanced series cameras can also be used

Robot selection

Select the commonly used small robots. The adapted robots can be found in Mech-Viz. The available robots are as follows:

  • ABB_IRB1200_5_09

  • KUKA_KR10_R900_2

  • DENSO_VSO_RC8

  • UR series

These robots can be placed in small demos, most of them can take a load of 5-10 Kg and they can equip small end effector. Similarly, universal end effector, such as pointed needles, single suction cup, can also be designed to grasp simple item and test the accuracy of grasping.
