Software License

Mech-Mind uses CodeMeter from Wibu-Systems as the license system for its software. Starting from version 1.6.0, CodeMeter installer is included in the installation package of Mech-Mind software. Mech-Mind provides two types of license: trial license and full license.

Trial License

If you need to obtain a trial license, please contact Mech-Mind Sales to get a ticket code, and then follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Mech-Mind License WebDepot.

  2. Copy and paste the ticket code into the Ticket field, and click Next.

  3. On the page My Licenses, click Activate Licenses .

  4. On the page Available Licenses, click Activate Selected Licenses Now .

  5. When the message License transfer completed successfully! appears, click OK .

Hint

If the license is successfully activated, you will see the license displayed in CodeMeter Control Center.

Full License

Before proceeding, please make sure that:

  • License dongle(s) is inserted into the USB port(s) of the IPC.

  • CodeMeter is installed.

Hint

CodeMeter will read the license automatically the first time it operates.

For full licenses that does not have perpetual authorization, follow the steps below to update the license.

  1. After receiving a message from CodeMeter that the license is about to expire, please export the license request file and send it to Mech-Mind.

  2. Mech-Mind will send back a license update file after updating the license.

  3. Update the license and check the license expiration date.

Export the License Request File

When CodeMeter informs you that the License is about to expire, please export the license request file as instructed below.

  1. Click codemeter_icon in the system tray to open CodeMeter Control Center.

  2. Select the license dongle whose license needs to be updated, and click License Update.

  3. Click Next in the pop-up window.

  4. In the CmFAS Assistant window, select Create license request, and then click Next.

  5. Select Extend existing license, and then click Next.

  6. Choose Mech-Mind as the vendor, and then click Next.

  7. On the next page, click .. to select a location for saving the license request file, and then click Commit.

    Hint

    If licenses on multiple license dongles need to be updated, please repeat steps 2 to 7 to export a license request file for each dongle.

  8. Send the license request file to Mech-Mind Technical Support.

Update the License

After you send the license request file, Mech-Mind will send back a license update file in WIBUCMRAU format. You can update the license automatically or manually.

Automatic update:

Double click the license update file to update the corresponding license.

Manual update:

  1. Click codemeter_icon in the system tray to open CodeMeter Control Center.

  2. Select the license dongle whose license needs to be updated, and click License Update.

  3. Click Next in the pop-up window.

  4. Select Import license update, and then click Next.

  5. Click .. to select the license update file, and then click Commit.

Hint

  • It is recommended to try automatic update first. If that fails, perform manual update instead.

Check the License

After updating the license, please check whether the license has been updated successfully following steps below.

  1. Click codemeter_icon in the system tray to open CodeMeter Control Center.

  2. Select the license dongle that you want to check, and then click WebAdmin in the lower right corner.

  3. On the pop-up CodeMeter WebAdmin webpage, check the date under Valid Until to see if the license has been updated.

  4. An extention of the date suggests that the license has been successfully updated. If the date remains unchanged, please update the license again. If the problem persists, please contact Mech-Mind Technical Support.

    Note

    • The Valid Until date for a perpetual license is n/a.

    • You can check the information of other license dongles by clicking the Container tab at the top.
