Power Control

In Mech-Mind Vision System, main electrical devices include: robots, Mech-Eye 3D cameras, IPC (Industrial Personal Computer), supplemental light sources, air compressors, robot tool, various sensors, signal lights, etc. Their power supplies should meet the following requirements:

  • Robot: Most robots have strong adaptability in terms of power supplies and can work in the voltage range from 200 to 600 V or even greater. A few robots can only work with voltages around 220 V.

  • Camera: When a Mech-Eye 3D camera is continuously working, the power consumption is about 120 W and the voltage is 220 V. You must use the camera cable provided by Mech-Mind to ensure the stability of power supply and anti-interference ability. If the power supply system of the factory is unstable, a voltage regulator is required to ensure the voltage stability.

  • IPC: The power consumption of the IPC is about 180 W, and the voltage is 220 V.

  • Light source: The power consumption of the light source driver is about 60 W, and the voltage is 220 V. The light source is powered by a 3-core power cord, and is 6000k white LED with adjustable brightness.

  • Air compressor: The power consumption of the air compressors is about 1000 W, and its voltage is 220 V.

  • Wiring: All wires are required to be classified and labeled, and must be organized in the line slots to avoid to be exposed and prevent interference with peripheral automated guided vehicle (AGV) and forklifts.

To prevent voltage fluctuation, a voltage regulator is required to provide a constant voltage for the camera and IPC. If power outages occurs frequently on site, it is recommended to prepare UPS power supply to protect the normal operation of the entire system and prevent accidents. Since most robot I/O ports provide 12 V power supply with a weak load capacity, they are not suitable for directly driving small electrical equipment such as sensors. Therefore, if a sensor is required to be connected to the robot, it is recommended to prepare a dedicated 12 V/5 V DC power supply for providing the power.
