Connect to Camera and Set IP Address¶
The camera must be in the same subnet as the IPC for the two to be successfully connected.
By default, the IP address of a camera is automatically assigned via the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP). If this meets your needs, you can connect to the camera directly.
If you need to set a static IP for the camera, please check the instructions in Set Camera IP Address below.
Connect to a Camera¶
All the detected cameras are shown in the Camera List.
Select a camera and click on Connect to connect to the camera.
Attention
The camera’s firmware version must be consistent with Mech-Eye Viewer’s version for the two to be connected. If the two are not consistent, please refer to Camera Firmware Upgrade for detailed instructions.
If you already have image data in MRAW format and do not need to capture images from a camera, you can open the MRAW file with Start Virtual Camera in the File menu in the Menu Bar. Note that, with a virtual camera, adjusting 3D and 2D scanning parameters will have no effect on the imported data.
Set Camera IP Address¶
Open Mech-Eye Viewer and hover the cursor on the camera for which you’d like to set the IP address. Click on to open the following window.
Select Set as Static IP at the bottom of the window. This enables manual configuration of IP address and subnet mask.
Set the camera IP address and subnet mask according to your actual needs.
You can select the class of IP address you’d like to use in Interface:
Class A 10.x.x.x: enter the values for the last three segments.
Class B 172.16.x.x: enter the values for the last two segments.
Class C 192.168.x.x: enter the values for the last two segments.
