FOV Calculator

This tool calculates the camera’s FOV on the object plane based on selected working distance. You can use this tool to help determine the mounting height of the camera based on your needs for camera FOV.

Click Tools ‣ FOV Calculator in the menu bar.

Adjust the Working Distance

You can adjust the working distance by:

  • Clicking the + and - to the right of the text field.

  • Clicking the text field and then scrolling to adjust. The value changes in increments of 0.1 m.

  • Inputing a value directly in the text field.

    Note

    The input value must be:

    • Within the value range for the selected camera series.

    • an multiple of 0.1.

Otherwise, the FOV values will not be calculated.

Calculated FOV

  • FOV Width represents the length of the camera’s FOV on the object plane.

  • FOV Height represents the width of the camera’s FOV on the object plane.

These values are automatically updated as you adjust the working distance.

Note

These values are automatically calculated based on the selected camera series and working distance and cannot be changed manually.
